THEN CHANGE COLOR
The connection between people is heavily emphasized on social networks today, and while connectivity flourishes along with free expression, the lack of boundaries degenerates the social environment into a Kaleidoscope - complicated, complex, but not always presentable. Directly taking people’s choices of words of self-expression on social platforms, this project will demonstrate the positive and negative connotations that are expressed, then reflect the result on one of the most simple indications - color.
Using furious, depressed, delighted, exhausted and terrified for emotion keywords, this project will utilize IFTTT to enable the color change process. IFTTT(If This Then That) is a web-based service that allows users to create chains of conditional statements triggered by changes that occur within other web services such as Gmail, Facebook or Twitter. By creating triggers that detect negative and positive connotations on Twitter feeds, a controlled light bulb would change into different colors, depending on the detected tone, creating the visual representation of different emotions in real-time from users around the world.
